New Artwork up

Finally got around to hanging new work. I love a burst of color in the dead of winter.

I just found your blog this morning...you're classroom looks like an awesome place to be! I am also a 2nd year art teacher:) I don't have a ton of students with special needs but I have been trying to find appropriate lessons for the ones I do have. Thanks so much for sharing on this blog!

Ooops...I do know how to spell. I meant "your" classroom, not "you're." I guess that is what I get for posting after a long, messy Monday in the Art room!

I teach a Pre-School Special Ed. classroom. I am looking for an art project to include all my students, the project will be sold at a fund raiser silent auction. I was looking at your artwork with circles and thinking how I might be able to adapt some type of project like this. My students are 2-6 with a wide range of disabilities. Any artful thoughts???

I used a lot of stamping on the circle project. You use card board tubes (heavy duty one that paper rolled on) sponges cut into circles with handles (old pill bottles glued on) and I also used these round wood blocks and added a handle made of wire. You could also make stencils ( I make mine out of old manila folders) tape them down and have the students paint. The key to making this project look good is lots of layers.
