To make this large abstract painting I made long brushes with a dowel rod and yarn. I then placed the paper and paint on the floor. From their chairs the students moved the "brushes" around the paper.
I'm half way thru my second year of teaching art for students with special needs. I see children ranging in age from 2 to 21. These are students that area school districts don't know what to do with. They are all multi-disabled. I use many different techniques and tools to bring them success in the art room.

that's fantastic! Yarn brushes!I wonder if you could try different materials attached to the end of the dowel and how it would affect the pattern.
